We did it! After a 2-1 defeat in the first leg, much of which was spent defending with our backs against the wall, we turned it over to win 4-2 at home and 5-4 on aggregate, our stirker scoring with a fantastic solo effort in the dying minutes of the game. It was an unbelievable feeling as we absolutely battered them but nothing was going for us! We really deserved the win and after the game I was absolutely drained physically and emotionally. That means one more week of football as the playoff final is played over two legs, away tomorrow and the home leg on Friday. I’m really looking forward to it.
I got myself out for a run yesterday, just a short 3 miler, to loosen up before a 1 hour circuit of core strength and stretching. Today we had a light training session ahead of tomorrow’s game.
As for the non-smoking, it’s now a total of 36 days! The cravings still aren’t dying though. Big example being after football, everyone was celebrating and there was, as there tends to be in beer gardens, smoke in my face.I knew that after a beer I’d be weak and so I went home. Again, i’m a bit short on time to delve deep into my feelings on this matter as I need a good kip before tomorrow!
